Since 1979, our organization has connected more than 100,000 international students with caring host families across America. International Student Exchange (ISE) is a proud sponsor of the J-1 Secondary School Visa. This visa program was introduced after the world wars to prevent such conflicts from arising in the future. Since 1982, we have remained dedicated to encouraging positive relations between people from different cultures through high school exchange programs.

Our foreign exchange programs range from year-long exchanges to a full college program, including your diploma, at one of our accredited schools. Becoming a foreign exchange student is a big decision. Your exchange year abroad may cost no more than a year at home. Believe it or not, that’s true. ASSE programs are offered to you at cost. Your host family does not receive a fee or reimbursement for expenses (except in the European Summer Language programs).

Exchange students on a school year abroad live in a host family or choose a student residence or a boarding school. They attend a public or private high school abroad, giving them the opportunity to learn about another culture and improve their language skills. ELIGIBILITY : Exchange programs for high school students are usually open to Exchange Programs Exchange programs give students the opportunity to deeply engage with a new culture and experience life as a traditional international student.
